Divisional
-
Players who are turning 11-18 years (born 2014-2007) must play in the Divisional Competition.

-
Players who are turning 10 and are in Grade 5 are eligible to trial for divisional teams. Selection in a divisional team is dependent on experience and ability and is subject to the discretion of the grading committee.

-
Divisional games are played under the official Netball Australia rules with paid umpires.

-
Teams play in skill appropriate divisions at Sunshine Coast Netball Association (SCNA).

-
Games are competitive with scores recorded and ladders developed. Teams progress through preliminary fixture rounds to semi finals and grand finals.

-
Whilst players may play in more than one position, there is a tendency for some positional specialisation. Players are encouraged to play in any position as requested by their coach.

-
All players will receive equal game time throughout the fixture season prior to the finals. During finals and grand finals, game time may not be equal and will be at the discretion of the coach.
How are teams put together?
-
Players will attend grading sessions, where they play games of netball and the grading committee will assess their skill level to place them within a team of players with similar skills. We aim for this to be a fun and enjoyable experience for the players.

-
The Grading Committee decisions are based on a specific selection criteria which aims to provide the best outcome for each player, as well as align to the values the Good Sams Netball Club and SCNA. These decisions are also aligned to the SCNA Fair Play policies.
-
Drawing from a wide range of player information, team lists are formed and divisional grades proposed. Court positions are taken into account and an even distribution of defence, mid court and attacking players are selected for each team.

Sunshine Coast Netball Association (SCNA) Competition
Once all players have been graded by the Good Sams Grading Committee, teams are announced.
All teams participate in two SCNA Grading Game days against other teams registered with the Sunshine Coast Netball Association, in the proposed Division.
Once Sunshine Coast Netball Association grading has been completed, all teams are placed in a division, with Division 1 being the highest.
Each division will then be allocated a time slot for Saturday games.
Fixtures are drawn up for each division and the competition begins! Fixtures, results and ladders can be found on the Netball Connect app.
